It’s reassuring to know that, when it comes to taking care of its own, Fidesz spares no amount of Hungarian or European taxpayer money!
Let them eat cake!
Daily newspaper Blikk revealed today that Kinizsi 2000 Mezőgazdasági Zrt., an agricultural company 37 percent owned by Fidesz member of parliament Sándor Farkas, received HUF 3.8 billion (USD 16 million) in EU and Hungarian agricultural subsidies between 2007 and 2014.
According to Blikk the support was paid out after the cultivation of 3000 hectares of some agricultural ground and the “creation of a modern cattle farm”.
The icing on the cake
Blikk further reports that Fábiánsebestyéni Lovas-Turizmus Kft., an equestrian tourism company majority owned by Farkas and his wife, received HUF 50 million (USD 183,000) in 2012 towards the creation of an equestrian touristic sport complex.
But that’s not all! Blikk says the national budget for 2015 provides for the same company to receive HUF 44.5 million (USD 163,000) from the public purse with which to allegedly complete projects started in 2014!
The cherry on the icing
Blikk reports that the Fidesz politician’s company also received the right to cultivate 151.5 hectares of state ground without tender, after which Kinizsi 2000 is entitled to receive more than HUF 10 million (USD 36,600) in agricultural supports.
Way to spread the love, Viktor!
