The government has submitted its plans for the 2017 national budget, including providing Hungary’s state-run media with an annual budget of HUF 70.14 billion (USD 254 million), slightly more than the HUF 69.86 billion for 2016.

Just to put that in perspective for our readers, the state media will cost around HUF 7,084 (more than USD 25) per Hungarian citizen per year. The US-based Corporation for Public Broadcasting spends around USD 1.35 per American per year.
