Mrs. Gábor Szabó, the mysterious woman who for years managed to convince now-government minister Lajos Kósa that she had inherited billions of Euros, has left the country before Hungarian authorities could officially summon her for an interview. This announcement was made Tuesday on Kludrádió by her attorney László Helmeczy. Mrs. Szabó had allegedly contracted senior Fidesz politician Lajos Kósa to act as a co-signer on an account housing said funds.

Her untimely departure came right before Hungary’s National Investigation Agency (NNI, Hungary’s version of the FBI) had the opportunity to serve her with a notice informing her that they wanted to speak with her. Her lawyer says she left the country for health reasons.
