Felcsút mayor Lőrinc Mészáros and various family members have bought 1391 hectares of ground from the Hungarian state at public auction for HUF 1.941 billion (USD 6.7 million).

Mészáros, whose rags to riches story under the second and third Orbán governments is the stuff of legend, reportedly snapped up 400 hectares of state land himself for HUF 506 million (USD 1.74 million), 100 hectares more than permitted at public auction, according to RTL Klub.
