When it comes to winning lucrative public tenders, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s son-in-law, István Tiborcz (pictured, left, with Orbán), is on a roll, having won yet another state contract, writes Hungarian news site VS.hu.
Tiborcz’s company, Elios Innovatív Zrt., was awarded a tender to renew public lighting in the city of Cegléd. The contract is worth HUF 500 million (USD 1.85 million). Cegléd will contribute HUF 100 million (USD $370,000) of the project’s cost, the remainder will be paid for with EU funds.
Orbán’s son-in-law is raking it in this year. As of April his company has been awarded public contracts totaling some HUF 3 billion.
